Back in the summer of 2015 we tried our hand at a little bit of Wortley Hall wedding photography for Michael and Manasi on their big day. We decided we needed to shout about their awesome day and show off how amazing their English(complete with a few Indian twists – very few) wedding was. Most importantly what a great day they and all their guests had. We hope the photo’s below and in our wedding gallery go a long way to telling their story.
About The Wedding
Michael and Manasi’s wedding took place in the height of wedding season and the British summer. We headed out in August to the stunning venue that is Wortley Hall to photograph what would turn out to be one of our favourite weddings of the year.
We arrived early in the morning to capture Manasi getting ready for day and enjoying the final few moments before she headed down the aisle to say those precious wedding vows. Huge shout out to the awesome team of Jenn & Natalie for helping Manasi with her hair and make-up (more information below). As you can see from the photos, she looked pretty damn amazing! We can only imagine what Michael was thinking as he saw his bride-to-be for the first time.
Michael turned up later in the morning with his parents. We could tell straight away that he was a little nervous but eager get the ceremony under way and enjoy the rest of the day with Manasi. Another big mention the team over at Greenwoods for helping out Michael and making him look sharp. I’m sure he will admit that he was only out done by one person.
As it got closer to the ceremony there was a sense of excitement in the air. Manasi put together her finishing touches and got ready to make the long walk to meet Michael and by goodness did she look amazing. Manasi had chosen a stunning wedding dress by designer, Madeleine Gardner with a lovely pair of Next shoes to complete the look. On top of Manasi looking awesome she had also chosen the beautiful flowers of Fantail Designer Florists. Everything just looked absolutely perfect and made our job very easy indeed.
After a very emotional ceremony it was time enjoy the day. With Wortley Hall having such wonderful picturesque gardens it was very easy for all the guests to basque in the very rare British sun and generally just relax and enjoy the very special day that both Michael and Manasi had invited them to be part of.
The beautiful gardens made our job of capturing them two alone very easy. It is always good to have a little time away from the party. Time to reflect and catch your breath before heading back in and enjoying the night. The glorious sunset we were treated to also went a long way to meaning Michael and Manasi got the most out of their wedding photos. Being asked to take Michael and Manasi’s Wortley Hall wedding photography was a complete joy at every turn.
When the speeches were complete it was time to let loose and party the night away. The entire day was filled with so much fun and enthusiasm that we couldn’t have asked for anymore. We only hope Michael and Manasi enjoyed the day as much as we did. Looking at the dancing photos it certainly seems that way!

Wedding Advice from the Bride
“Enjoy the day. You only get to do it once!”
Creative, Reportage Wedding Photography
We approached the Wortley Wedding in the same way that we had approached all the weddings we had photographed previously with a documentary, candid approach. When Manasi had originally emailed she had told us how she “absolutely loved” our natural wedding photo’s that we had displayed on our website. The rest as they say is history, a year or so later we where there, camera in hand to do what we do best, capture real, honest moments of their wedding without taking away their enjoyment of the day.
For us the relaxed approach we take always leads to the best photos, when a Bride and Groom are having an awesome time; not worrying about when the next photo’s have to be, we know that the best photo’s will be captured. Wortley Hall was also a perfect wedding venue to remain unobtrusive and photograph some great of the great emotions. The guests reactions during the speeches are an example of this and one of our favourite photo’s from the day day is Manasi reacting to Michael’s speech. A truly special moment that we feel very privileged to have photographed.

Make-Up & Hair by Jenn & Natalie from Jennedwards.com
Jenn, Natalie and the rest of the Jenn Edwards team are awesome make-up and hair artists. We get to work with them on a lot of weddings and we always know that they will make the bride look amazing making our job just that little bit easier.
Flowers by Sam from Fantail Designer Florists
“Manasi & Michael were to pleasure to work with and the images from the day look stunning. The flowers they chose were subtle peaches and pinks with touches of white and foliages coming through. Flowers consisted of the ‘Miss Piggy’ Rose, Vuvuzela Rose, Eustoma, Spray Roses, Thlaspi and Eucalyptus. For the centre pieces we created arrangements of flowers taken from Manasi’s bouquet in glass vases lined with sliced orange and lime.”
“Wortley Hall is a stately home in the small South Yorkshire village of Wortley, located south of Barnsley. For more than six decades the hall has been chiefly associated with the British Labour movement. It is currently used by several trades unions and other organisations as a venue for residential training courses and other meetings, as well as for purely social gatherings.”
Thanks so much to Michael and Manasi for inviting us along and asking us to capture their wedding day. We are grateful and blessed that you invited us into your lives for a brief but completely awesome period of time. Wow what a wedding. Enjoy!
