Wow, being part of Rob and Fiona’s barn wedding was a fantastic end to a very busy year. Ending on a high is always a good thing and I think you will all agree that you couldn’t really set the bar any higher than Rob and Fiona’s amazing wedding! An awesome contemporary wedding venue featuring one of our favourite places to say I do.
Have a good look through the wedding photo’s linked below. They do no justice to their awesome day and we are so happy they invited us along to be part of everything they had planned.
About The Wedding
Rob & Fiona tied the knot at the stunning Sandburn Hall in October of last year. It wasn’t exactly our last wedding of the year (hard to beat New Years Eve) but it was certainly a good way to bring proceedings to an end. We couldn’t have wished for more and I am sure they were pretty happy with the way it turned out as well!
The day started at the nearby Griffon Forest Lodges, which, if you are getting married close by, they have got to be the best place to get ready. Surrounded by trees, the quaint little cottages are perfect for morning preparations. If needed, a walk through the woods would definitely help take your mind off any big day nerves. Future Bride and Grooms, get ready hear and stay the night. You won’t regret it!
Rob skipped on the peaceful walk before the big day and instead invited a long some of his mates to bring in the day in style. We had met them all before as we had already photographed a couple of their close friends which was great as they all knew the score and were happy to let us photograph away capturing some awesome moments. Rob’s family put on a few bacon sandwiches as everyone smartened themselves up and headed outside for a little bit of dutch courage before they headed off to the barn for the wedding.
On the other side of Griffon Park Fiona was getting ready with her friends and family. We want to give some huge shout outs to some of the people involved in helping Fiona look awesome, specifically Bow & Blush who were on make-up/hair duty for the day. I am sure you will all agree Fiona looked awesome and she definitely made Rob blush a little as she headed down the aisle.
Fiona wore a lovely dress that when teamed with her beautiful flowers (by Campbells Flowers who we love working with) and amazing Rachel Simpson shoes just knocked everyones socks off. Just see for yourself!
The full wedding was held at the hall with everything including the wedding ceremony taking place under the famous oak arches. Just a heads up, absolutely no idea if they are made out of oak..
For those of you that know the venue you will know that it is a killer place to get hitched, we have done a few weddings there and every time we love how he images turn out. Getting good images is always easy when the couple are so awesome, the venue so nice and last but not least, you have an awesome wedding band their, ready and willing to get everybody up off their feet and on the dance floor. Huge shout out to the boys from The In-Laws.

Wedding Advice from the Bride & Groom
“Everything is going to be perfect, and even if it’s not you’ll be too happy to notice!”
Natural Wedding Photography
Photographing weddings is what we do and we were super happy to be asked to photograph Rob & Fiona’s day as we had already shared a few weddings with their friends. Getting recommended by another couple or generally just people seeing the images from other weddings and booking is always a big deal. With our natural approach knowing all the guests are comfortable leads to the best photo’s. We hope to recreate our natural wedding photography style at many more weddings so if you were at Rob and Fiona’s big day then please get in touch!
Shout Outs from the Happy Couple
Fiona’s stepdad, Steve, made all the wooden signs inside and outside the venue. Rob, fiona, fiona’s grandma and rob’s Mum made the drapes and Bunting. Wooden table centrepieces created from a yew tree in Rob’s parent’s garden, cut by Colin Rolph. Great fairy lights by Wedding Venue Lighting.
(Did they just shout out themselves.. Yes I think they did)
The Wedding Suppliers
Make-Up & Hair by Jade & Beth from Bow and Blush
Fiona’s hair and make-up was created by sisters Jade and Beth Hutton at the amazing Bow and Blush.
They are freelance hair and make-up artists, specialising in bridal and working within Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
Tracey and the team from Campbell’s Flowers
“The flowers were beautiful, everybody commented on them. They were the perfect colour and went with our colour scheme/theme perfectly. Tracey also included her own ideas – something I am pleased she did – as these were ideas we had never thought of, and made the flowers look even better.”
Rachel Simpson Wedding Shoes
“Rachel Simpson wedding shoes are wearable. From the carefully selected heel height to the elegantly designed toe shape, each pair is as comfortable as it is beautiful. Rachel pays particular attention to the detail within each design, ensuring that the line of the shoe is perfectly cut to compliment the foot and offer maximum comfort. Every shoe is lined with softest kid leather, which allows the foot to breathe and ensures comfort from day to dance floor, from the moment you put them on.”
Huge thanks to Rob, Fiona and all their family for asking us to capture their wonderful wedding. We loved every minute and are really happy with the pictures we were able to capture. We hope you had an awesome wedding day! Thanks!
